Remote not working with LG TV. Will only work periodically then stops.?

I have an LG 37LC2D LCD tv that has just gone off its two year factory warranty. Yes I have changed the batteries and tried to reset the tv as well to see if that is the issue. I believe I either have a motherboard problem or a problem with the IR receiver. I just would like to know what exactly it is before I send it in for repairs, if I send it in at all. The remote will work for a bit, then stop working. I have tried three different remotes that work for the tv so I know this is a tv problem.

I was going to take the tv in today to get fixed, but just then I tried the remote and it worked. A few minutes later the same problem continued. Then I tried it again in ten minutes and remote worked again.

Does anyone know what exactly is going on???

just something to try next time it stops working,if you have a Camera phone look at your remote through it press a button on it and the bulb should flash,if not it's your remote

Read This Before Buying A Battery Operated TV

Battery operated TVs have really come of age since the invention of the LCD screen. They have shrunk so much in size that a lot of models will easily fit into your pocket. It's now possible to keep up with your favorite shows while you're travelling on the train. Camping is great for kids during the day but it's a bit trickier to keep them entertained when the sun goes down. Not so when you have a battery operated TV. Kids will quite happily drift off to sleep with a cup of hot chocolate while watching their favorite evening show.

There's no need to go without when there's no reception either. Many battery operated TV's will also have a DVD player included. No need to carry a bunch of DVD's with you if you get a model that has an SD card and plays Divx files. You can easily convert your kid's favorite DVD's to Divx and fit quite a few hours of TV on a large capacity SD card. Don't forget to put a few movies on for yourself as well.

Try to use the unit you are considering before you finally purchase. Most stores will have demonstration units that you can review. Motion blur on the images produced by cheaper LCD screens is common so look out for that. Most blur is caused by the pixels in the LCD screen not being able to change colors quickly enough for fast moving images. More expensive models will keep this phenomenon down to a minimum or eliminate it all together.

One other important feature to take note of is the viewing angle. Viewing angle is the maximum angle you can view the TV from and still get a good picture. Most portable battery operated TV's will be viewed from the front so it is not as crucial. For larger portable battery operated TV's that more than one person is going to be viewing at a time viewing angle is a more critical deciding factor. The most common LCD screen size in battery operated TV's is the 7 inch model. With a high resolution and brightness you can get quite a good quality picture on these models Try to get the brightest screen possible for the best viewing in lit up areas or daylight viewing. Also check the resolution as the higher the resolution the better quality picture you will get.

Other things you might like to consider before making your purchase is the length of time between battery changes or charges. You will more than likely receive an AC charger with your TV but if the unit uses standard batteries you may need to purchase a wall charger. Being able to charge it up in the car is handy as well so check to see if it comes with a 12 volt charger.

Miniaturisation of technology can also be life saving during times of natural disaster. A portable radio has always been the mainstay of every household's emergency kit but with the miniaturisation of technology it is now possible to keep a battery operated tv handy as well.

You'll need a battery operated TV to receive the national emergency television broadcast. There are many portable TVs on the market these days but for it to be any good in case of emergency it needs to run on disposable batteries.

Another amazing development for TV on the go is the portable satellite TV system. One system, the PocketDish fits in your pocket but it's not really a satellite TV as it's only capable of recording from the satellite receiver. It can store just about every other media as well such as photos, music and even plays games.

DirecTV's SATGo is an amazing piece of technology as it's actually a portable satellite television you can take anywhere. With a 17" LCD screen it's a bit too big to fit in your pocket but it can be taken just about everywhere as it's self contained in its own fold up case that is easy to transport. Makes for the perfect device on camping trips, days at the beach or having a tailgate party.
