Want Good home theater?

My budget is about 1000 dollars. I have a PS3 slim for blu ray. I use a Panasonic g25 50 inch plasma 1080p TV. I want a good receiver and speakers that will produce a good hd sound

You didn't say the size of your room??, you have a large TV so I'm am assuming its a larger room too, the Yamaha reviver is a good buy but also the Onkyo SR 507 is a good buy , but a little more expensive than the Yamaha receiver, I think it is a better receiver too... budget speakers can be had way under your budget by BIC and Fluance..if you want something a little better quality but still a good buy look into the Energy Connoisseur Line also Polk has been getting some good reviews with their TSi 300 line of speakers...you could build a home theater around those...You can audition the Polk at best buy to see what they sound like......
