toshiba xp netbook
Is it possible to get a notebook or netbook without Winsows XP?
All the reasonable notebooks, like the dell inspiron 10v, come with windows XP which I can't stand. I much prefer windows vista. Are there any good* notebooks or netbooks with windows vista? Or... if I get one with windows XP, can I upgrades to windows vista or windows 7, which apparently is coming out soon? By the way, when is 'soon'?
*= By good, I mean around £250 or less, a screen size of less than 13" and a battery life on the internet for 3 or more hours. Also it looks good and is easy to use, like the toshiba NB200 n280.

Netbooks will not run Vista well. You're best off waiting until the end of the month when Windows7 is released. It's much more netbook and all around friendly. You can also order a lot of netbooks with Ubuntu Linux to save some money and sometimes get a larger hard drive.

I love this Toshiba! First, I want you to know that my intentions are probably different than most people. I have 10.10 Ubuntu Linux (version of the Super OS) Windows 7 will be downloaded to erase the hard disk. I am working on Windows 7 and is pretty good, but not much better than XP, XP will die. But I digress ..
CHANGES
The Toshiba 4 GB RAM, Intel Core i5 (a portable version - Laptops are only two processors instead of 4, but 4 channels of knowledge transfer - the computer is completely look i5 4 processors, Intel's web site for a complete explanation). Processor 2 and 4 channels read a lot of juice a laptop, unless it can to try to make graphics or high-end assembly to do the video. You can move, play DVDs, editing photos, text, email, etc., and several programs open at the same time a lot. You have opened gajillion programs simultaneously, and gajillion feet opens in your browser (Firefox, Opera and Chrome).
STORAGE
500 GB hard drive! If a laptop, I think it is impressive. I have about 130 GB of music alone, in my pictures, videos and other additional documents. In addition, create in my case (OS emulator software for something like Oracle VM Ware), the accused VirtualBox and a "guest" on Windows XP. For those wondering what the hell, I say that my (now) laptop computer with Windows XP, Linux application "window" of the software. That gives me a chance to use, Napster, iTunes or some other event that something does not play well when there is a "Windows". 500GB is enough space for all that and much more.
GRAPHICS
The display is sufficient. Graphics and icons are not clear. Watching movies is fun. My wife and I prefer Netflix and DVD laptop and the laptop is good for him.
SOUND
This is my only complaint. Not strong enough without any help. Honestly, have not a laptop that is strong enough without having seen any help. Remedy? $ 10 pair of speakers which are through the USB port of your laptop. Simple. It is even stronger in the TV room.
BATTERY
This was an important factor. It has been estimated at about 8 hours. My experience was about 4 and a half floors. I'm sure it is put into it from the programs you use / how much work it. It can also be equally effective for the Linux and Windows 7, I'm pretty sure that since I changed the operating system immediately after purchase. 8 hours, start to wishful thinking. I am very happy with 4 hours of battery life. N. 1980-1910 will run on netbooks, netbook, but normally not all effects can run the program while gajillion netbook is usually limited computing power to sense balance.
Size / Weight
I was surprised how small and light notebook that surprised. It is very easy to carry in your bag, laptop and about 1 / 3 and 1 / 2 as easy as my last laptop (Acer Aspsire 5520). Although the external speakers, portable fridge, 4 USB hub and cable is easy to carry.
PORTS
It is only 3 USB ports (one for eSATA). Generally, only two USB ports at a time, but sometimes you need more than 3 My solution is quite favorable, 4 USB hub (I think around $ 15.10, can not remember ...). Combo is a SD card reader and an HDMI port, which is good if you export HD or connect to a TV do .
