Can some DVD players be incompatible with new TV sets?
Can some DVD players be incompatible with new TV sets? I just bought a 37" Samsung telly and it is brilliant! However, one problem: with some DVD discs, all the colour becomes pale and greeny. My DVD machine is a Toshiba dual DVD/VCR player. However, when I played the DVDs in question on a multi-region player, the colour was normal.
Check your cables and the settings on your DVD player. Assuming that your new TV is an HDTV (I'm guessing that it is), make sure that you're using component cables (the green, blue, and red cables) and that your DVD player is set for 480p output via component. That may be the cause of your problems.
